Sculptra® Aesthetic

Collagen stimulation is the number one way to naturally treat the signs of aging. At Still Waters Day & Medical Spa in Pensacola, FL, we offer Sculptra Aesthetic, a collagen-stimulating injectable that works with your body’s collagen production to treat, correct, and even reverse the signs of aging. It works by addressing the root cause of aging skin, which is collagen loss, by stimulating collagen production so that you get real, natural-looking results.

What Is Sculptra® Aesthetic?

Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that has poly-L-lactic acid, a collagen stimulator that helps restore a youthful appearance to the face by stimulating the body’s collagen production to help treat and correct the signs of aging. The absorption of the poly-L-lactic acid by the body is what stimulates collagen production within the body, and it continues to increase in the months following injections, resulting in a diminishment in your lines and wrinkles.

What Does It Treat?

This injectable treats the signs of aging that appear in the lower half of the face. It will soften and smooth the smile lines that form around the mouth, commonly referred to as nasolabial folds. It also treats and corrects laugh lines, commonly referred to as marionette lines, that run down the sides of your mouth towards your chin, and it treats chin wrinkles, which form across the chin and are very difficult to target and treat aside from the use of injectables.

How Many Injections Are Needed for the Best Results?

The total number of injections necessary for the best results varies from patient to patient. Injections are determined based on how much collagen loss you have experienced overall. Typically, the average patient requires approximately three separate injections over three to four months for the best results.

How Long Does It Take to Notice Results?

Because this injectable relies upon the body’s collagen production for results, change happens gradually. After your injection, you will look the same as you did pre-treatment. This is completely normal.

As time passes, you will notice a gradual improvement in the appearance of your lines and wrinkles. This typically begins to happen a few months after treatment, once the body begins to amp up the collagen production.

How Long Do Results Last?

Once injected with Sculptra® Aesthetic, you will experience results that last as long as two years.

What Are the Aftercare Instructions?

Following your treatment, you can apply ice to your injection sites for optimal comfort and to limit any swelling. For the best results, follow the triple five rule. Massage your injection sites for a total of five minutes, five times per day, for a total of five days post-treatment. Avoid excessive sunlight after your injections. Always wear high-quality sunscreen and a hat and sunglasses for extra protection, regardless of how long you think you will be in the sun.

Who Is It Right For?

If you want a natural way to treat the signs of aging in the lower half of your face, like smile lines, marionette lines, and wrinkles on the chin, you are most likely a candidate for this treatment. During an initial consultation, an experienced injector will extensively review your health history, analyze your problem areas, and determine if Sculptra Aesthetic is right for you.
