How Often Should I Get a HydraFacial?

If you pay attention to trends and practices in skincare, you have no doubt heard of the HydraFacial by now and seen some of the incredible results. If you’re looking for a way to revitalize your skin and refresh your complexion, there is only one treatment for you. Still Waters Day & Medical Spa, located in Pensacola, FL, is the perfect place for all your skincare needs, including the HydraFacial.

How Often Should I Get a HydraFacial?

Before we look at how this revolutionary treatment works, let’s dive into this important question. This treatment effectively rejuvenates your skin, but it isn’t meant to be used as a “quick fix.” While getting a single treatment will instantly make your skin feel softer and appear brighter and healthier, it’s best to get this facial treatment about once a month.

As you continue to care for your skin on a regular basis, you’ll notice that it grows healthier, clearer, and brighter. Skincare is a lifetime commitment to your health, and this facial is here to help.

What Is a HydraFacial?

This treatment has quickly skyrocketing to become the most popular skincare treatment in the world because it’s so effective. It’s so popular that, somewhere in the world, this treatment is performed every 15 seconds!

It all works because of the facial machine that controls the entire treatment. Attached to the machine is a handheld wand capable of infusing your skin with serums as well as vacuuming the serums–along with dead skin cells, dirt, and other gunk–out of your skin. Throughout the treatment, the technician will move the wand over your face to complete the various steps. It sounds simple and painless: and it is!

The Process

Step One: Vortex Cleansing and Exfoliation

The first part of this treatment involves vortex cleaning and hydra peel exfoliation. The aesthetician uses a deplaning tool to clear the top layer of makeup fragments and dead skin cells away and open up the pores. Once the dead skin cells are swept away, the healthy ones beneath are revealed.

The healthy cells reflect light far better than the dead cells that have been swept away, leaving your skin looking brighter and healthier.

Step Two: Acid Peel

If you’ve had an acid peel before, you might worry about this step of the treatment process. Typical acid peels can be painful. But nothing about this treatment is typical! The acid peels used in this treatment are a non-irritant mix of salicylic and glycolic acids. This serum works to loosen debris that is deep inside your pores and that cannot be reached with normal facial washing. The serum also helps to prevent acne and pustules from forming in the future.

Step Three: Vortex Extraction

This step is the most interesting part of the process. Just like with the acid peels, you may have had past experiences with extractions. But again, these are not your typical extractions. Rather than manually forcing the blackheads from your pores, vortex suction is used to pull it up and out.

The aesthetician uses a vortex-extraction nozzle for this part of the process. The nozzle rapidly circulates a serum that, when applied to the skin, acts as a vacuum to pull up everything clogging your pores. At the same time, the handheld wand sucks the serum back up, as well as the blackheads, dirt, and other gunk clogging your pores. The used serum and the extractions are deposited into a specific receptacle. You can even ask to see it afterward if you’re interested!

Step Four: Vortex Fusion

The final step in the process brings everything together. The aesthetician will use the vortex-fusion tool on the wand, which infuses your skin with a special serum that hydrates and renews your skin. The serum, made of antioxidants and collagen, detoxifies your skin and helps to create healthy skin structure and function. It also promotes elasticity, diminishes the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, oiliness, and uneven skin tone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Skin Issues Does This Treatment Help?

One of the many reasons this treatment is so incredibly popular is because it works for nearly every skin issue. It’s just as effective for teenagers with acne as it is for adults looking to get rid of their fine lines.

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

This treatment uses a unique spiral suction of water to lift and remove dead skin cells, and ultimately diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dark Spots and Patches

While there are other skincare treatments that work to treat dark spots and patches, they all have major side effects. Except for this one!

This treatment’s use of pulsating, spiraling water gets beneath the skin and wakes up blood vessels and cleans out impurities. Once the blood vessels beneath the dark spots and patches are activated, they can work to clearing the skin. This is the only skincare treatment that helps reduce the appearance of dark spots and patches without causing additional issues.

Clogged Pores

Our pores easily get clogged with dirt and oil, no matter how much we try to wash our faces. This can cause acne, blackheads, discoloration, and premature wrinkles. But, the unique spiral suction of this treatment slides water beneath the skin’s surface. The vortex suction power lifts the gunk out of your pores and sucks them into a receptacle so that your skin is left clear and clean.

Enlarged Pores

As our pores continue to trap more dirt and gunk, they can become oversized to accommodate everything that is trapped. This can give your skin a mottled or uneven look, in addition to making it appear oily. By consistently cleaning out your clogged pores with this facial treatment, your enlarged pores will begin to regress to their normal size.

Mild Acne

We like to think that acne is something only teenagers in the grips of puberty have to deal with, but that just isn’t the case. Acne can affect anyone. And while you might want to run to harsh chemical products to help clear the oil and dirt from your skin, these can do more harm than good.

This facial treatment, on the other hand, takes away the need for using such harsh chemicals on your skin. This treatment gently washes away the dirt and impurities in a manner more effective than any chemical treatments you could use on your skin. Doing so helps to reduce your chances of having acne breakouts and helps to clear up existing acne issues.

Oily Skin

Having oily skin is difficult enough, but what makes it worse is that it increases your chances of developing clogged pores and acne. The spiral suction that exfoliates and lifts dirt and oil from beneath the surface of your skin helps to decrease the oil in your skin as well as reduce acne and other blemishes.

Is There Anyone Who Shouldn’t Get This Facial Treatment?

While this treatment is helpful for practically every skin issue, there are some who should abstain from this skin treatment. If you have an active rash, sunburn, or rosacea, you should wait to get this treatment until your skin has cleared.

Additionally, pregnant patients should not receive this treatment because not all ingredients in the serums used have been tested and proven safe for use during pregnancy.

Are There Any Side Effects?

If you’ve ever had a facial with manual extractions, you know all about the side effects. During manual extractions, the aesthetician pinches, pokes, and prods at your skin to physically force blackheads, dirt, and other grime out of your pores. This is not only painful, but it leaves your skin red, irritated, and inflamed. It also makes you more likely to have acne breakouts in the coming days.

But this treatment is unlike any other facial. Rather than doing manual extractions, your aesthetician will use a combination of powerful serums and vortex suction to lift your blackheads from your pores and vacuum them out of your face. After doing this, your aesthetician will infuse your skin with anti-inflammatory serums to ensure your skin has no negative reaction to the treatment. There are absolutely zero side effects.

How Long Does the Treatment Take?

This powerful treatment only takes about half an hour! That means you can easily fit one on your lunch break or during any other part of your day.

Is There Any Downtime for the Results?

When you walk out of our medical spa, you will be able to instantly feel and see the results. Your skin will immediately appear refreshed, vibrant, and bright. Because there is no downtime for results, and the treatment itself is so fast, it’s become one of the most popular treatments to get right before a major event like a prom, wedding, or even the red carpet.

Can You Get Other Treatments Alongside This Facial?

Absolutely! It can be hard enough to make time in your schedule to visit the medspa for one treatment, but having to make separate appointments can be impossible for those with a busy schedule. But not to worry! You can top off your Botox or fillers at the same time as your facial. In fact, you can do any injectables or non-ablative light and laser treatments on the same day as this facial.

Can You Only Have This Facial Done on Your Face?

Even though this facial treatment is usually done on the face, it can actually be done on any area of your skin where you are having problems. The most common places to get this facial done, other than on the face, are the neck, decollete, hands, arms, and upper back.

Is the Treatment Customizable?

This facial treatment is infinitely customizable. The company that created the HydraFacial also has a line of booster serums that can be integrated into your treatment. These boosters are specifically created to help particular skin issues, and they can be used in treatment to help you really focus on your priorities.

You might want to infuse your skin with growth factors to help reduce fine lines or use a brightening agent to give your skin a glow. Whatever your priorities are, there are boosters to help you achieve your skin goals. But that’s not where the customization ends!

During the acid peel step of the treatment process, your aesthetician can choose from three different strengths of peels based on your skin type, your past experience with peels, and your desired outcome. You can even have your aesthetician tone down the suction power on the wand tool and go over the dark circles beneath your eyes. This boosts circulation and can clear the dark circles!

Are You Ready to Try It for Yourself?

Whether you deal with oily skin, fine lines, or acne, the HydraFacial is the one treatment that attacks all these issues. No matter what problems you are having, this is the perfect way to clear, cleanse, and rejuvenate your skin. The results speak for themselves.
